Standing While Reposing the Blessed Sacrament Some have asked me, “Why are some standing after communion while the Blessed Sacrament is reposed in the Tabernacle?” Though not mandatory, this posture is to show reverence and respect for the real presence of Christ in the form of the Eucharist as it is reposed to the Tabernacle. Feel free to remain seated if standing is difficult for you, or if you feel you can reverence Christ in your heart regardless of your posture.
