Ellacuria Delegation Back from El Salvador Submitted by Ron Leonhardt Dan and Lisa Nimmer, Tom Dueppen, Peg Leonhardt and I are truly grateful for all your prayers and well wishes for our delegation to Ellacuria from October 26 to November 1. It was a wonderful and blessed experience for us. We were warmly received by our sisters and brothers in Ellacuria and learned a lot about developments that have occurred since our last delegation in 2019. We toured the community, met the eldest member (106 years young!), and saw a lot of new buildings. The church has new pews and windows and the school has been painted and new flush toilets are being installed. We also learned how much Tom’s father, one of the true “Saints of Good Shepherd” and known as Uncle Tom to the people in Ellacuria, meant to the community, especially by donating funds for many scholarships. While in San Salvador we learned a lot about the current state of affairs in the country, visited several holy sites and brought back crafts for our holiday Fair Trade Sale which we hope you all enjoy. We hope more of you will consider visiting Ellacuria in the future.
