A Big Thank You from Right to Learn
for Your Generosity
During our Lenten Almsgiving Project, we collected 31 backpacks, 960 pencils, 263 folders, 111 boxes of crayons, 69 boxes of colored pencils, 130 composition books, 42 pencil cases and 58 erasers. All this is on its way to the Dominican Republic for children at Right to Learn School.
Michael Hart, Board Treasurer of Right to Learn, expressed his deep gratitude for your support of the children he serves in this ministry:
Thank you for your generosity in donating backpacks and school supplies for our students at Right to Learn Christian School (Derecho a Aprender Escuela Cristiana) in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. We anticipate enrolling 120 students for the 2026-2027 school year.
Our families, which are mostly Haitian refugees, have very limited resources and few school opportunities. Because of your kindness, students who would otherwise go without will receive a quality, Christian education with the tools they need to learn.
St. James tells us that “faith without works is dead”. It’s obvious that faith is very much alive at Good Shepherd.
Praying that God blesses each of you abundantly.
In Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic there are many families that fled Haiti due to gang violence. Most were not attending school. A school was created for these underserved children. With much prayer, fundraising and the work of volunteers, Derecho a Aprender Escuela Christiana opened to more than 70 children ages 3-5 in November of 2024. Learn more at myright2learn.org
