Welcome Back Niagara Falls Catholic Heart Workcampers!
Our workcampers are back from serving the people of Niagara Falls. There are many stories to be told from our teens and adults who attended. One of our workcampers shared her story in front of the entire camp. Here’s some of what Ella had to say:
The summer after my freshman year of high school I attended my first CHWC in Boston. The entire trip, the service, the people, the Mass every morning—it was all life changing. The feeling I remember most, though, was the moment when all of the campers, adults, and staff paraded to the chapel where we had Adoration. As we paraded you could hear the voices of everyone singing “Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary.” During Adoration that day I felt a strong connection to God and was immensely moved. A year later when I again attended Adoration at CHWC, I was struggling to feel the same connection at first. I was distracted and felt like the moment I had in Boston was a once in a lifetime thing. I forced myself to surrender those thoughts of comparison and just listen to the music, and I began to just pray the words that the singer was singing: “So I throw up my hands and praise you again and again cause all that I have is a hallelujah.” I was again able to feel the Lords presence.
We are so grateful to have seen hundreds of teens have similar experiences like that of Ella. Your support has made that possible and has changed the lives of so many of our young and old parishioners. It has also been the source of outreach to so many people in our community and in communities across the country. We thank you for your prayers for our Niagara Falls workcampers this year and all the love you show our workcampers year after year.
