More Heart-Felt Thanks for Your Generosity
A few weeks ago, we watched a thank you video from The Jim Luther New Hope Center’s Director of Operations Jack Bolog. It was in appreciation for our Lenten Almsgiving Project that supplied them with hygiene products for their clients.
A letter also was included in that thank you and offered an insight and thanks from Rafael, a member of their co-op program and lives in the neighborhood:
Your donations are helping my family survive during our rough patch. After inheriting my Dad’s house, we had also inherited the back-taxes on the home. We are working towards paying the $15,000 of taxes that is owed to the house. It is my family’s home, where my wife and children live, and I want to pass down this place to my kids. I can’t do this alone, and the co-op has supported me with food, friendships, and access to resources to help me keep my father’s home. Thanks to the co-op, I can feed my family, get support in paying the bills, and help my family get through this time.”
Bolog goes on to say our donations are “sustaining a network of mutual support in our communities where people feel supported not just by our organization, but by their neighbors. All at Good Shepherd, thank you! We are blown away by your generosity.”
