Ellacuria Missionary Coop Plan Appeal

The Archdiocesan “Missionary Cooperation” Appeal for this year is our own ministry and partner relationship with Ellacuria, El Salvador.

At our Mission Sunday Masses, we had two videos from Ellacuria that were played with the translation captioned. It may have been difficult to read along with the video, so here are the translations for both of them.

Greeting from Directiva: Good evening! This is the Joint Directiva of the Community of Ignacio Ellacuria.
[They introduce themselves]
We are the Joint Directiva for the Community of Guancora and it’s a great pleasure to do this for you and to offer our gratitude to our sister parish Good Shepherd for the solidarity you have shown us during 35 years. We know that what we have, the development we have experienced would not have been possible if not for you and we hope that we keep building this solidarity, this sister parish relationship every day, and to tell you how grateful we are as a community, as a Joint Directiva, and that we hope that God multiplies what you do for us today and always.

Antonio Ramos Greeting & Song: A greeting to all our brothers and sisters of Good Shepherd Parish. Many thanks be to God that we are celebrating the completion of 35 years of twinning with our community of Ignacio Ellacuria. A big hello and hug to all of you who are present. I dedicate this humble song to you:
Sisters and brothers of Good Shepherd Church, we are so grateful for the assistance you have gifted to us during these 35 years of love and solidarity.

We ask your help to be able to continue advancing because this government has no interest in development; they just want to deceive us with ‘security.’
We ask your help to be able to continue advancing because this government has no interest in development; they just want to deceive us with ‘security.’
The healthcare system is being privatized, firing people in all the institutions.
So we ask our brothers and sisters
to continue accompanying us on this walk of love and solidarity.

Donation envelopes are available at the church doors for you to support those in Ellacuria through the MCP.
