Our God Has Revealed to the Nations,
All Saving Power
Psalm 98 is a hymn acclaiming that the Almighty is Ruler over all the universe. All nations witness the Creator’s mighty deeds, and for that we sing a new song. This serves as a most appropriate link between the first reading and the gospel, both of which highlight the good fortune of a foreigner. A foreigner and outsider are healed. God intends to bring all humanity into the Divine’s loving embrace. We believe and proclaim a God who is always ready to heal, forgive and redeem.
We sing to you a new song, for you have done wonderful deeds.
Right hand and holy arm brought victory to God.
God made that victory known, revealed justice to nations,
remembered a merciful love loyal to the house of Israel.
The ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.
Make a joyful noise all the earth, break into song, into praise.
