Honor Your Loved Ones on Our Ofrenda
At our last Generations session, we learned about the worldwide celebrations of Halloween, All Saints Day and All Souls Day. In appreciation and respect of other cultures, we created an Ofrenda (Altar or Offering). As part of Mexican culture, an Ofrenda is made for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and celebrated on All Saints and All Souls Day.
As a way of honoring and remembering those who have passed on before us, we invite you to the Ofrenda in Daniels Hall to add pictures or memorabilia of your loved ones as a celebration of their life. On All Souls Day weekend, we will move the Ofrenda to the bottom of the main entrance ramp. Feel free to add to our Ofrenda throughout November. We will include the book of the dead next to the Ofrenda where you can write in the names of your loved ones. As part of our tradition at Good Shepherd and the Catholic Church, we will pray for your loved ones and all those who have gone before us for the entire month of November.
