The Deacon Gene House of Peace Toy Drive:
Let’s Fill the Altar with Presents

Take yourself, spouse, kids, grandkids, niece, nephew — why not take the whole family shopping for the Deacon Gene Christensen House of Peace Toy Drive.

We will fill the altar with toys (unwrapped or in gift bags) on Gaudete Sunday, Dec 9-10. And Capuchin Community Services will provide children the joy of Christmas morning. They assist over 1,000 central city households by allowing parents to “shop” for toys in a respectable, store-like atmosphere at the House of Peace. They are in most need of Christmas presents for children 10 years of age and under:

Playdoh Sets • Scooter • Hot Wheels Cars & Track • RC Car or Truck • Coloring Set & Easel • Action Figures • Jumbo Character Stuffed Plush Animal • Etch-A-Sketch • Basketball, Football, Baseball, Soccerball • Children’s Books • Other toys for children birth to 10 years of age

It is such an awesome sight to see hundreds of toys adorning the altar. And what a beautiful symbol of Christ’s love and what we represent in social justice outreach and service.
