Grateful: Roots, Fruits & Shoots Good Shepherd Stewardship 2023 Kickoff

As many are accustomed to at Good Shepherd, we use the month of November to focus on Stewardship. As we prepare for 2023, we have chosen the theme of Grateful as we address Stewardship at this time.

† Stop by the narthex to notice our Grateful Tree that will be displayed throughout the month of November.

† Consider what makes you Grateful.

† Take a moment before or after Mass, and create your Grateful Leaf to attach to the tree by sharing what you are Grateful for with our Good Shepherd Community. Participate as often as you’d like.

Throughout the month we will share videos and photos related to our Good Shepherd Family.

Roots
We will travel through the history of our parish as Roots of our Parish. We are Grateful for the vision of Fr. Fran, our founding members, and those parishioners over the past 60 plus years who have contributed to all that Good Shepherd has to offer.

Fruits
We will share the many the Fruits of our Parish: our many active ministries, intentional outreach forming lasting relationships, vibrant & inclusive Liturgies, formation for all ages, active programs for youth, prayer opportunities for all ages and so much more. Our Good Shepherd Community offers so much for each of us.

Shoots
We are excited to share the Shoots of new life ahead of us. We continue to see new members become involved in our parish life, working side-by-side with those who have kept this parish a valuable part of our lives. Now is the time for all of us to plan for our involvement in the new Shoots in the 2023 and beyond.

Through this call to Stewardship, we are asked to give. This is our time to plan how we will be involved at Good Shepherd in the coming year.

Time
Consider sharing your presence: at Mass, Generations of Faith, In the Spotlight, on Matthew 25 Workcamp or the many opportunities we have to gather together.

Talent
You have the skills to serve our community. Do you have the gift to assist in technology, serve as a reader, baker, planner, catechist, small group leader, outreach coordinator, minister of communion or an acolyte, or so many more? All these volunteer opportunities are so valuable. Where can you lend your Talents to our Good Shepherd Community?

Treasure
Sharing financially is an important part of our parish. You have heard us speak of deficit budgets and using our savings to balance budgets. The same holds true as we plan for the new fiscal year. Currently, we anticipate additional needs from our savings and the potential of a deficit budget. At the end of the month, you will be asked to consider your financial gift for the new year. To assist with closing that gap, all of us are being asked to consider an increased gift of at least 10% in the new year. If you have given $100 per month in the past, please consider $110 in the new year; if $500, consider $550. If you have the ability, please consider taking the place of someone that cannot give at this time by doubling your gift.

Grateful for the many things in our Good Shepherd Community.

Grateful for the Roots who have been and still are part of what has kept us grounded.
Grateful for the Fruits that have defined Good Shepherd as a welcoming and flourishing parish.
Grateful for the Shoots of new life and opportunities ready to bud for Good Shepherd in 2023!
