Human Concerns

When we say “human concerns” we are referring to anything that is an issue that affects the well-being of any human soul on this earth. The human dignity of all is core to our faith. Baptized disciples of Christ have many ways to engage in this aspect of our faith. It can involve direct service to those in need, or empowering individuals or groups that encourage people in need to aid to take action themselves. It can also mean the work of justice education that raises awareness in the many areas where we are still challenged by societal injustices and inequities. Or it can mean advocating, where we form partnerships with organizations that serve as advocates for the poor, the unborn, the vulnerable and strive for changes in public policy and societal structures. The arena of Human concerns has a broad spectrum that runs from protecting the unborn, the poor and rejected, to protecting all creation.
