Cathedral Center Meal Ministry Invitation & Urgent Needs

We support our sisters and their families in Milwaukee who are experiencing homelessness. The first Sunday of each month, we prepare and deliver a meal to those staying at the Cathedral Center. For those on the meal team, this is a meaningful opportunity:

Because the meal program is monthly, it is a good reminder for me to contribute to the welfare of those in need throughout the year. My individual contribution is small, but as a group we provide a nutritious and satisfying meal for the women and children at the Cathedral. (Barbara Finley)

I love being able to contribute toward the meal and to serve at the Cathedral Center. It is great to interact with the families, especially the children! It’s fun! Going there helps me to get a better idea of the struggles they face. I feel more connected to the women and families by serving. It helps me to practice being non-judgmental, and it’s a Corporal Work of Mercy. (Joan Plumley)

I enjoyed my brief opportunity to serve at the Cathedral Center. Because of physical problems I was unable to continue to go to the site but was able to prepare Sloppy Joe for several more months. Now I am reduced to donating and praying for this important outreach. Join if you can. (Joyce Guinn)

We invite you to this ministry for all ages: donating purchased or homemade food or money for meals, delivering a meal or serving a meal. Contact Carrie Scholz (carrielynnescholz@gmail.com) for more info.

In addition to our monthly meal, the Cathedral Center has some urgent, specific needs:

† Mini toiletry items (bar soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.)

† Anything from their amazon wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1IAE55NXCXK5X?ref_=wl_share

Please mark items “Cathedral Center,” and bring them to the Daniels Hall kitchen. We’ll take them to the Cathedral Center on our March 3 visit. Thank you for attending to these families in their greatest needs.
