History of Group Workcamps

Group Publishing of Loveland CO sponsors workcamps. The first Workcamp was held in 1977 when Colorado’s Big Thompson River flooded, destroying many homes and lives. Since then, Group Workcamps have been bringing enthusiastic teenagers into communities across the United States, Mexico, and Canada to help needy families rebuild their homes—and their lives. More than 100,000 teenagers and their adult leaders have participated in hundreds of workcamps nationwide. Group Publishing is a non-denominational Christian Organization. No other organization has their depth of experience in missions and mission camps.

History of Good Shepherd’s Involvement in Workcamps:

In 1993, fifteen youth and two adults attended a workcamp in Scranton PA. Good Shepherd has been attending one camp per summer ever since.
