Central America Committee
The main mission is to coordinate the parish’s sister parish relationship
with Ellacuria in El Salvador. They meet on the first Thursday of every
month at 7:15 p.m. in Room 203.
Faith Justice Program
Faith Justice I is an intensive 11 week program introducing participants
to Catholic Social Teaching and to community groups working on behalf
of the poor and oppressed.
Faith Justice II is a follow up program for Faith JusticeI. During “The
Season for Nonviolence – January 30 (anniversary of the death of
Mohandas Gandhi) and March 4 (anniversary of the death of Martin Luther
King Jr.) this program includes weekly immersions and reflection on social
justice issues in real life settings.
Separated/Divorced Support Group
This group meets every other Friday at 7:00 p.m. to provide support and
encouragement for those going through the difficulties and challenges
of separation or divorce.
Refoccus Minstry – for Married Couples
An enrichment program for married couples. Offered on two consecutive
evenings in February – 7-10 p.m. The Refoccus program for 2004 will
meet February 11 and 18.
Hope and Healing Ministries – Counseling Services
A counseling service of Catholic Charities which is on site at Good Shepherd
every Wednesday. Contact Diane Oman 262-547-2463 (Waukesha) or 253-1424
(Good Shepherd).
Grief Support Group
Meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month 7-8:30 p.m. in the chapel –
for adults. Children meet in Room 216.
Opportunities to Serve
Guest House Ministry
Good Shepherd sends volunteers to the Guest House – transitional
living and training center for homeless men in Milwaukee. The volunteers
go to the Guest House on the 4th Monday and Wednesday of every month.
St. Ben’s Meal Program
Every third Wednesday of the month Good Shepherd parishioners provide
food and deliver it for St. Ben’s Meal Program in Milwaukee. Call
Sara Eldredge (255-2035) for information.
Sleep Warm Quilters
This group makes sleeping bags for the homeless at Repairers of the Breach,
a self-governed daytime homeless community of people in transition in
Milwaukee. The quilters meet on Mondays at 9:00 a.m. in Room 203 –
from the first Monday after Labor Day to the Monday before Memorial Day.
Repairers of the Breach
You are welcome to join other parishioners in a brown bag lunch and a
time for reflection on the scripture once a month on a Friday at Repairers
of the Breach’s self-governed homeless community of people in transition.
Franciscan Peacemakers
A ministry with the poor in Milwaukee’s central city – the
2nd Wednesday of the month.
